OK...so I know it has been over a month since I have written anything. I would be surprised if anyone even comments on this anymore because you probably don't even read it. I really should put more time aside to do things like this. To be fair though, if you look back at my very first blog, I told you this might not work for me. I have to say that life in the Matejcek house has been really busy lately. I have started a new job. I am working at a catering company in the customer service department. Really, it's not even a department so much as a room with four desks in it. I answer phones and take orders. We mostly do box lunches for business meetings or office get togethers. We do throw big catered events in which there is provided staff and even bartenders. Currently I am part time. In about another two weeks though I will probably start working full time. With the holidays coming up there will be more work. Soon, I will also be helping the event coordinator to set up big parties. I am really excited about this part because I just love to think about how beautiful an event can be once it has started at someone's house. Another event that has just happened this past week is that I got my appendix taken out. This of course is major surgery. To tell you the truth, I don't remember any of it, go figure. It was a long two days in the hospital and I hope I don't have to go back for a while. The crazy thing about all this is that Monday morning I took Brad to the airport to get on a flight to Canada! As soon as I dropped him off I called my mother to ask her to take me to the doctor. We then, with Brianna, sat in the ER waiting room for almost the entire day waiting for me to get a cat scan. They finally got me into surgery at 8:00 Monday night. So, with Brad in Canada, my mother in the next room, and Brianna at my brother's house asleep in Jack's bed, I went under the knife. I woke up two hours later in a lot less pain and feeling like not all of me was laying in that bed. My favorite (sarcasm) part was of course the nurse who cam in at 11:00 at night and starts to ask me all these questions while I try not to fall asleep on her and I don't really know what I am saying. Thankfully my mother was no too busy that I could come stay with her all week until Brad gets home from his trip. He gets back on Friday, by the way. Another thing that has made our life busy is that Brianna is now in daycare. She goes when I am at work and seems to like it quite a bit. She has been eating more and playing more and she is always happy when I pick her up. The one problem is that she has gotten sick with what we don't know yet. The doctor has given her an inhaler which has not really worked to its fullest potential, but he says she is not sick. This is the only thing I worry about, but I really would like her to be better. I have started to stress over the past couple of days that she may be allergic to my animals. I really don't want to give them up. I know it sounds really dumb and I know that my child is more important than any cat or dog. I just don't know where I would put them. Now to happier news, and of course some pictures. Here are a couple of things Brianna has learned to do over the last month. As you can see here, she is now sitting up by herself pretty good. She still falls side to side, but as a whole, I think she is doing great.
Then, we decided to take her for a ride in her "big girl" stroller. She actually fits! We just walked around the block, but she did not cry at all. Brad and I took her together one Saturday when she was getting tired of being in the house. I think I am right in saying that we all had fun. I just wish our block had been a little bigger.
The last thing she has started to do is to sleep on her back. I was actually surprised she could stay asleep like this. For the most part she can still sleep all the way through the night. Of course, since Brianna has started daycare, her night ends at 5:30 in the morning. Also, she can't really get herself back to sleep once she wakes up on her back. We just have to go downstairs, flip her over and she will go back to sleep. I think it's pretty cool how well she is doing, though. Except for the cold.
Ok, so enough about me and Brianna. Bradley went to do his first audit this week. That's why he went to Canada. I think it's good because he gets to travel more. He seems to be having a good time, and I don't think it's as weird in Canada as it is in China. Brad says the food is actually good. I would not be surprised if he gains a little weight. I know when he goes to China he loses a little weight because he does not eat much. Well, since this blog has gotten really long, and I am kind of drugged up, it's time to end. I will try to write something again soon, but I can't promise anything. Hopefully I won't have to take any time off work for a while. This has been the fastest week ever. What's sad is it will be over soon. Before I go, here is video of Brianna playing with the dog. How cute!
